They liked it just fine. The quote was along the lines of "A Hemi V-8 is offered, but the V-6 is sufficient for most owners. We wouldn't get the Hemi, not when the V-6 is so good."
I think it's more than the V-8 doesn't give enough extra performance to justify the added cost and increased fuel use over the V-6 for the vast majority of buyers. The only instances where I'd say the Hemi adds anything tangible would be in towing heavier loads and driving at extreme altitudes (where the power loss would sting a bit more- with the Hemi you'd still lose power, but you'd have more of a margin before it became a problem).
