I think it just depends on the dealer, mine has 33 summits and 12 SRTs but laredos are only 22 and limiteds were the most i think

Yeah I agree. My dealer here always has more Overland's than anything.

Are all the Summit's gassers or are any of them fitted with the Ecodiesel?

why no summits

In Montreal, I've noticed mostly Overlands followed closely by Limiteds. Summits are nearly as common. SRTs come in fourth place while lowly Laredos are a distant fifth.

I see a lot of Eco diesels on the road too. Perhaps it has to do with the cost of fuel. CAD $1.40/L (USD $4.40/gal) for 89 octane versus CAD $1.25/L (USD $3.80/gal) for diesel.

I have also noticed that dealers nearby generally have less than five GCs on the lot at any given time regardless of trim level. People here mostly buy the cheaper Jeep models or the Renegades.

Re: why no summits

All trim levels are visible pretty heavily around here (Metro Detroit). Although I do see a lot of older Laredo's (2011-13).

Re: why no summits

The Laredo rules the Metro Detroit area. Dealers cry because they can't seem to get enough compared to others. Limited comes in a very, VERY close 2nd. Summits? Meh. Overland is popular too. SRTs and Summits are hard to come by.

JNAP's build is mostly Limited, Overland and Laredo. Then there's the others, oh and the Durango.

Re: why no summits

I'd say my area north of Dallas has primarily Overlands; followed by Limiteds and very few Summits. Area def plays a big role as there is basically no snow in TX. The dealers have almost exclusively all 4x2 models here. I think lots of people just bump up models because a loaded 4x4 Limited and a 4x2 Overland are not that far off in price.

I'm originally from NJ (just moved to TX ~6 months ago) and up north is where I bought my car before the move. At that time 4x4 was a no brainer, due to the winters and I went with a Limited 4x4. If I had waited and bought the car inTX I may have given more thought to an Overland with 4x2. Can't say for sure though. But the option to go 4x2 in warmer locations gives more wiggle room for adding options or moving up a model, should you desire.

Re: why no summits

We have a ton of GC's in S FL so I usually pay no attention at all to what models they are. Unless they're modded they just count as you've seen one GC you've seen them all.

That being said, curiosity just made me look at the local dealers site and they have in stock 42 GC's.
6 Laredo
22 Limited
2 Overlands
12 Summits

So I guess that's kind of an idea of what's being bought down here.
And on a side note, only 4 of those are 4x4 and only 2 are 8 cyl.

Re: why no summits

Out this way, its mostly Overlands and Laredos, 2011-2014. Limiteds and Summits seem to be far fewer, but still around. There are one or two SRTs I see regularly, a few more SRTs I see only once in a blue moon. Lots of Grand Cherokees out here.

Your perception of the immediate area you live in does not tell the tale for the rest of the country. Did you ever think it might be different in other markets?

Re: why no summits

See plenty around Phoenix, more Overlands, mostly Limiteds followed very closely by Laredos.
For me, I chose Overland rather than Summit for a few reasons; Do not like the Summit wheels, did not like Summit interiors (too dark)... only thing Summit had that the Overland does not that interested me was the sound system, but was not going to pay an extra $5000 for a sound system when I did not like the interior. Even if they were priced the same, I would have ended up with the Overland. Sound system can be changed much cheaper than interior.
