You've either been driving that Liberty Sport too long or the Luxurious Lincoln of yours, with its power goodies and leather put a really bad taste in your mouth.

Re: Why would anyone buy the Limited?

Why I bought a limited:

1. Cheaper with the options I wanted
2. Didnt want to wait months and months for an overland to come through, mine too only about 8 weeks from order to delivery.
3. Dont want quadra-lift (great idea but until their reliability and long-term cost it proven I dont want it)
4. Dont like the overland logo seats

Re: Why would anyone buy the Limited?

Interesting how this thread morphed from Why would anyone buy the Limited to Why would anyone buy the Overland.
I haven't bought anything yet but was going to buy an Overland. Anyone out there have a picture or a link to the seat logos that people seem to dislike. I haven't seen them yet. Thanks

No bad taste in my mouth. I never was for the image of luxury cars. I think that most people that buy those cars buy it for status more than anything else..... just to say, my car cost x amount of money or I got a Lincoln or Cadillac BS. 95% of the reason why I bought the Lincoln was because the MKZ had the more powerful 3.5L V6 engine and the Fusion at that time just had the 3.0L V6 as the top engine. The other 5% is that I really wanted factory HIDs . Now the new Fusion Sport have the 3.5L V6 so there would be no reason why I would buy another MKZ unless Ford ever put the 3.5L ecoboost in the MKZ (which they won't). I HATE with a passion leather seats, I don't like how they wear, I'll stick with my cloth seats. I know they are harder to clean if you have a spill so just don't spill anything on them and you will be good lol. As for power goodies, that would be the moonroof and rear sensor. After really thinking about it, I didn't use my moonroof except for cloudy days or nights. As soon as I pop the top, the sun would beam on my head and would make my head hurt so that was $1000 for a moonroof well wasted and if a person can't part their car without the help of radar then they should not be driving, before the MKZ, I was driving for 4 years in a car that didn't have one so I'm just back to square one. The only thing that I had in the MKZ that I wish I had in the Liberty was the sound system...... but thats going to change soon.

My limited has a heated steering wheel. I believe its part of the vented seats package. I rarely see temperatures below 80F though. I wish they made a hot weather package.

I don't have a picture of the Overland seats but the contrasting Logo is less obvious on beige seats compared to black or saddle. For me, it's the worse thing with the saddle interior.
I agree with many of the other comments. If you want all the options, then an Overland gives better value. But, for many, the Limited allows one to choose options and customise better.

This goes back to what I was originally saying, though. If you don't want the Overland options, can't you build a Laredo X up to the same spec as a Limited and for less money?

Re: Why would anyone buy the Limited?

If you can live without the HIDs, rain sensing wipers -nicer than I thought-, and access to the power liftgate and whatnot then yes. Is the laredo X cargo area trimmed just like the regular laredo?

Re: Why would anyone buy the Limited?

Yes, the Overland I drove had the light frost seats and the logo wasn't too much. But, I want the saddle, and now have to wait to see how that will be executed, in person. Why they feel the need to differentiate these seats with an overscaled logo is beyond me. It's a cheesy detail, and except for a few Jeep people, who the hell knows what an Overland was???

Thanks. If the logo is a light color that's going to look real cheesy on a black interior. That's one for a "What were they thinking" thread.
