Wife hit garage today 😞

The rim buffed out. Being a machines face was the big factor they said. Had it been a painted it would have had to been refinished or replaced. The door handle also buffed out. Still waiting for the estimate on the big stuff. Almost wish it would have affected the crash beam on the door so they would have just put a new one in instead of re-skinning it.

Dude, that sucks, I feel for you.
My wife was driving my dodge ram and decided to back up and re-align herself in the garage, meanwhile I had pulled into the driveway behind her in her Honda, She backed right over the front of the car., SH**, I couldn't get out of the way and honked the horn... AHHHH, I don't think she even ever looked back. Good thing it wasn't a little kid or something.

Two of our vehicles in a single shot.

Re: Wife hit garage today

We have a double car garage with two separate doors. In 1994, I was pulling into the garage in our new Ford Explorer while my wife had just pulled into the other side. She decided to close both doors while the Explorer was coming in. The Explorer wasn't hurt (though I had to use some force to get the roof rack cross bar straight across the top again after it caught the bottom of the garage door. We had to replace the bottom two sections of the door though.

One year later, to the day, she pulled into the garage in our new Toyota 4Runner and didn't wait until it completely raised. There was scuff damage on the roof of the truck and we had to replace the bottom two sections of the garage door.

She's been accident free since. Of course, now, I keep the Jeep and the MX5 in the garage and her Subaru sits in the driveway so she doesn't have to come into the garage.

None prior either.

Tony,
I would have put a claim into homeowners insurance, saying
The garage hit my Jeep.

Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

I bought my wife a day at one of the highest-rated resort spas in the valley. It must have been super relaxing, because on the way out she brushed the rear fender of the Outback against a metal pole. Oh well, a week later we got rear ended by an elderly person on the freeway. The minor scrub mark in the paint was no longer visible after the $6400+ damage was done to the rear of the vehicle.

Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

It's likely a larger repair than mine, but I took my overland into Dent Wizard in Kempt Rd when the wife got it door dinged at work (5 weeks old). Repair was not perfect but good enough to prevent me from going back to the dealer for an $1,100 repair.

I see from the pictures that's no door ding, but it never hurts to talk to the guy. They were very good and upfront about what they could and couldn't do.

I'm waiting for some sort of larger repair and then get it all fixed at once.

Good Luck.

Husbands..... In the past two years, while driving his Chevy pickup, my husband has rear ended another vehicle at a roundabout, ran into a parked truck in his work parking lot, and hit a moose. Thankfully no accidents while driving my Jeep...yet.

Caper,
I wish I could use the dent wizard. Used him on some other stuff when I lived in Halifax and the valley. Unfortunately she did a good number on the door. Why she didn't stop when it hit the side step rail she can't even explain. She just gaver!

Autonomous driving cars are her dream lol.
