Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

I know someone (honest, it isn't me!) who was having some work done at his house and so the contractors needed a dumpster. He told them exactly where to place the dumpster on the large driveway, etc. and told his wife (more than once) to be careful when backing out of the garage because the dumpster is there. A few days later, BAM!, he backs his 2011 GC right into it causing over $3K in damage (he was in a hurry to play golf).....it even has a backup camera with sensors. So he takes it into a body shop for the estimate and will take it in the following week for the repairs. Well......during that week until it gets repaired...........he backs into the dumpster AGAIN! LOL ... TRUE STORY! Fortunately not repaired yet so no real cost increase with the repair.

Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

Had a woman swipe my right rear corner this March of this year. Damage looked pretty superficial, but still $1300 for the rear bumper cover, paint, and labor.

Here's the reason I post...
In MN you can just exchange insurance info and continue on, no police report needed. She totally owned up to it being her fault, so I took pics of the vehicles and her license and insurance info and continued on to my IT class. Called her insurance agent from my class (before class started). She had been dropped 4 months earlier. SON-OF-A-B***H! So I'm out of pocket for deductible. I called State Patrol and reported her, not sure if they gave her a ticket or not.

Moral of the story: If you live in MN or a similar state... While still at the scene, call the insurance company on the insurance card! Try the local agent first, if they don't answer call the main company. Make sure they have coverage, if you can't verify, then call the cops and file a report.

Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

Had an almost kinda not similar incident 2 years ago with my 09 Acura TL SHAWD. Dude in an old baby blue dodge caravan almost rear ended me while I was in a centre turning lane. Guess he thought it was the through lane. He notices at the last minute and just swiped my right rear quarter panel. It could have been bad and I was bracing for the bads. Dude just keep on going. So I jumped back into traffic and gave chase flashing my lights and honking. After a few streets he pulls over wondering what the issue was. I was like dude you just hit my car! He states no he didn't. I showed him the red paint on his front drivers side bumper and the baby blue paint on my right rear quarter panel. He thought he missed me. I could hear the crunch so I'm sure he did too. I took pictures of damage and plates and called both insurance agencies. He asked if I was going to call the cops to which I displayed my RCMP badge. He went a little big eyed being surprised I guess. I told him insurance will sort out the rest. The scuff on my bumper was 1400$. It was also my first and only pursuit in my Acura lol. And only one too.

I sure wish my wife's attack on my Jeep was only $1400 😭

Waiting to hear from insurance company as to what the premium damage will be should I choose to claim it.

There may be a tall blonde working the corner down the street from me soon.

I was gonna guess $5k-ish.

What did the prior rear ender accident run?

Re: Wife hit garage today 😞

You know I'm not sure. It was about 4g on my Jeep as they replaced everything from the bumper down. It seems when they go through insurance they just rip shit off and replace it new. As for the other car I can't say.

My DH was so busy turning his head and flipping the guy off he ploughed right into the back of a double parked squad car.

To make this worse, he started arguing with the officer about being double parked.... tickets, repairs, etc ran over 10 K. He was driving my rig.

Don't laugh. I may be one of the few males to get lower insurance rates after divorcing the first wife, who obviously learned to drive at a carnival dodge-em ride.

Does MN revoke the drivers license immediately upon a police report of someone without liability having a charged accident? Surprised they didn't pull her license upon being notified by the insurance company that her insurance had been cancelled.
