Even a cow protecting her calves. Get near a cow moose with lil ones near by and she will mess you up if not kill you. They can be just as aggressive as a bear but with long legs lol

I just recently dealt with my insurance when wife decided to leave her purse in the back seat VISIBLE while we went to watch a pop warner football game only to come back to see window broken, paint scratched and interior leather trim also scratched and peeling. Cost was just shy of 2k so decided to go through insurance for it.

Yesterday morning i get a call from my father stating the night before on his way home from work a big rig side swiped him and took the side mirror, scratched paint and left a dimple in the rear quarter panel of his 2012 tacoma. It was basically a hit an run since driver sped off. Dad was able to get plate # on that big rig so we are going to follow up with insurance and see if they can track them down.

Mind you all this has occurred in less than 2 months. We'll see what happens, i'm assuming that rig has to have some type of insurance so we are hoping they pay.

Worst case scenerio if that rig does not have insurance well depending on the total cost of repair we may or may not go through insurance to repair but if we do I'm sure our premium would go up.

Thanks I'll certainly be checking out my options. I'm with Unifund now but used to be with State Farm. I'll be checking with State Farm again as I had to drop them only due to me being posted in Nova Scotia and they not offering coverage there. Being posted now to New Brunswick they are again an option. Great service prior.

Oh yeah. A cow with a couple younger, but bigger than a horse, daughters can all of a sudden decide you look like an intruder. Some folks got badly hurt just off Peak to Peak a couple months back.

Worst thing is to be outside the vehicle with a dog. Moose do not like dogs, and you are just in their way.

Moose aren't always polite enough to raise their hackles even... they may start walking in your direction as if just walking around, next thing you know you just learned how fast they really are.

I frankly prefer bear, you tend to get more warning with the lip smacking, etc. And they are not as naturally agressive even in the spring or fall.

Before you do anything check with your state insurance department. There are guidelines for when an insurance company can and cannot raise rates. In some cases when it is a hit and run your rates won't go up, provided you made a police report.

It doesn't cost anything but a phone call to find out. But request a copy of the regulation. Sometimes the folks who work at insurance companies (like anywhere else) don't understand or choose not to play by the rules.

I'm in Canada. Wasnt a hit an run. Wife hit side of garage entrance while driving out and trying to go around another vehicle in the driveway. Misjudged her swing. No police report required and I'm an RCMP officer.

Don't underestimate the amount of data that is stored "out there" that is accessible to subsequent insurance carriers...
