Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

It is a Jeep... and if I do not take it off-road often, it will get angry and that's when things will start breaking on it!

I do not plan on lifting it, so I will take it on off-road trails to its max capabilities as is. The last time I took the Jeep off-road, I got some light brush w/ some bushes which I was able to buff out.

Cheers,
-A

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

IMHO, the poll needs one more option. The reason I brought my 2005 wk was becouse i am a hard core surf fishermen, my wk has been to the beach more than a few time, I expect my wk2 will see lots of sand also. Grrrrrrr I called the dealer today to see about my VOD #, was told maybe they will order it tomorow.

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

Yea, no. I am kinda a nancy about the rig (only 2 months old) so tarmac is where she will stay. Now, with that being said, in a few months maybe that will change, (grippier tires and possibly a lift), but as for now, just a tarmac queen.

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

Gravel roads and fields. And every time I go, my wife says, "Where are you going? You can't go there!" I love answering her, "Don't worry, it's a Jeep!". And I say that every time.

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

16 - 17 psi. I always go to around 50% of the normal recommended cold pressure.

Good to know. Not to hijack this thread, but how long is it good to ride on that little pressure?

I never gave that a lot of thought. I know I wouldn't do it on pavement, but when I lived on LI, I was on the beach four or five days a week from April to October and never had a problem.

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

I really need to get my Jeeps on the beach. Seems a travesty to live here on LI and not take advantage of that.

Could you expand on which trails your WK2 can handle in the Telluride / Ouray area?

I want to make a trip out there this summer, and not sure what the stock WK2 could handle.

Re: will your wk2 leave the tarmac?

I live on a gravel road. I treat it well, but my Jeep is not a Garage Queen.
