Windshield just cracked...no outside influence

So, driving on the highway and the windshield cracked at the drivers lower corner, right in the blacked out section below my stickers (Texas).

There's absolutely no outside influence that would make me think the glass was hit with something. No chips or scuff marks.

Has anyone here heard of the factory glass breaking like this?

Yes, not totally uncommon

Could have been a flaw from the factory. Hard to say for certain.

Re: Windshield just cracked...no outside influence

With you being from Texas, I know how yall like spices in your food. May have been an inside influence. Just kidding with ya.

In all honesty, it could have simply been a design flaw/weak area in the glass that caused it just as John mentioned above. It just needed the proper catalyst to set it off. Heat, sudden pressure differential within the cabin, or sharp harmonics from the road could have cause it to finally let go.
