Windshield washer fluid

What's up guys? I have 13k miles on my Trailhawk and roughly 1500 miles ago, the windshield washer on the passenger side stopped working. Do you guys have any idea what could be the problem? Would it be covered under warranty if I brought it in? Thanks for any help bros!

Re: Windshield washer fluid

Open the hood and see if the plastic connector is broken. If it is, you are probably squirting washer fluid over your engine.

My god Bill, your a genius! I tried reconnecting them and it won't stay on. Every time I spray it, it comes off again. Guess the dealership is the next stop. Thank you Bill!

Careful, this could lead to Bill building his own private lair on a remote island where he will contemplate world domination.

Re: Windshield washer fluid

nozzle is probably clogged, try clearing it with a pin first, might save you a trip and a wait.

Re: Windshield washer fluid

I've had to replace both the right and left side nozzles. It was covered under warranty, but this does tend to happen frequently. Pretty annoying.

Is the hose just too large for the fitting?

Note that although a dealer might try to avoid fixing it, you can usually take a bit of heavy duty wire and a small pair of blunt end pliers and make a small clamp to hold it in place. Presuming the problem isn't due to the washer spray head having too much back pressure.

Re: Windshield washer fluid

Check for breakage, the connecting hose between the nozzles is a tick too short and puts stress on the nozzle nipples.

Re: Windshield washer fluid

I'd nag the dealer to replace it with a bit longer one.
The hose should be readily available at parts places if that fails.

For cleaning the jets, you can buy nozzle cleaning wire sets or kits that consist of fine wires that are longer than the typical pin, and they flex. Fairly common for carb repair on bikes, and also for 3D printers.

Just left the dealership. Said they have had to replace like 12 in the last week or two bc of the harsh temps we received (-45 w/windchill). He said he wasn't sure if it was covered under warranty, but it's a $20 part if it isn't covered.

Re: Windshield washer fluid

Why wouldn't it be covered by warranty? And forget wind chill. Vehicles do not experience wind chill.
