I am wanting to upgrade the headlights on my 2015 Altitude but I am getting a bit confused the more I read. Do we need to do a full HID upgrade kit on the Altitude or can we just buy the HID bulb? These are the bulbs I was going to buy but now I'm not sure what to buy. I called XenonDepot and they couldn't help me due to it being a 2015 and not knowing if we have HID or Halogen bulbs.

D3S - Philips 6000K Ultinon 42403WX Bulb

Thanks for the help.

It's kind of something we looked at but was too much to figure out for the time being. Look around the visual part of the WK2 forumn and/or do a search for it. Its come up quite a bit.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

From what we were reading it sounded like you would have to find a power source for the ballast but I would look on your own to see.

Same here man.

I can't seem to get a strait answer from anyone and I am thinking its because no one really knows. All I want to know is if I need to buy a full kit or just the bulb.

Holy crap bro, I think you live like two blocks from me. There's another white Altitude that always parks near 67th and Cloverdale too LOL.

I park in a garage but I live in that area. I've seen the one you are talking about.

My car came with the Cd player because the dealer wasn't looking to swap with another dealer. They just threw it in.

Does anyone know how to take it out. It's a total waste of space.

Gotta buy the kit (bulbs and ballasts) and the canbus fixes. The oem bulbs are basic halogen H11 bulbs (lows and fogs). PM Steve from XenonDepot and he will get you set up.

A few warnings though...
  • You have to modify the dust caps on the back of the headlights with a 1" hole. Make sure you have a way to cut this cleanly.
  • Plan ahead and get some larger power terminals... the terminals in the kit do not fit our battery terminals in the engine bay nor the ground bolts.
  • I would plan to remove the from bumper for the install. Between the ballasts, canbus modules, and all the wiring, it's a lot to cleanly manage just working from the top with the airbox out.Removing the bumper cover gives you a way to manage the wires out of sight and more clean surfaces to mount the ballasts.
I learned the hard way and decided not to proceed with it for now and it ended up costing me $$$.

Mine did not come with the CD player as, from what I've been told, they are being phased out completely and won't be offered as an option in the near future.
That being said, where is it located in your Altitude, Paul? I wouldn't mind finding one for ours if it wasn't too cost prohibitive, was an easy hookup (connectors there just behind a cover or panel or something and didn't take up too much of the wrong space.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

The CD players take up about 95% of the space in the lower center console.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

laurenzobe is correct. That's why I want to remove it. Attitude I was going to sell it after I remove it. I'll let you know how much when I get it removed.
