Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

Damn, looks like there is a lot of Omaha metro area people on here who own an Altitude. I see them around town all the time. I'm in Papillion and own a 2015 black Altitude. We should start a net working group.

Did you install it or a shop? How hard was it?

I installed them myself over the summer. I used a relay harness (slightly modified) and one error code eliminator. If you take your time and pay attention to what your doing I would rate the install a 7 out of 10 (10 being the hardest). I come from installing car audio for 5+ years. So for me it was really nothing I haven't done before. It was more learning how to get the front end apart without breaking anything. I did manage to break two clips.... one on the upper portion of the grille (underneath) and one for the passenger side fender flare. The fender flare one I repaired with epoxy (very fragile clips) and the grille clip I left alone. Mainly because it had no effect on fit of the grille once everything was back together.

I pulled the front bumper and each headlight housing off the body to really be able to hide and run the wiring to my standards. I also swapped my grille inserts (black overland inserts) at the same time, being the bumper was off the car already.

I've used DDM in my past two cars (one being an '08 WK) and now my wife's '13 Altima and my '14 Altitude. Tons of people across all car/truck forums online swear by DDM... I would never go anywhere else for HID. Just my opinion.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

Sup guys. Picked up my first GC altitude edition this week. I want to get a two Reciever but i am stuck between which of the two to get.

This one does not require cutting into the bumper

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

I wouldn't get one that cuts into the bumper IMO. I like to keep a clean look.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

I guess your right. My color is deep cherry and with the cut out being black it wouldn't look good.

WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

I opted for the curt version on my billet silver... that OE hitch to me stands out to much against billet or any lighter color body.

Re: WK2 Altitude Edition pictures and questions!

I was thinking of adding a step hitch to prevent people from hitting my bumper in nyc. If I get the curt tow Reciever its positioned much lower then the oem.

I thought about that till I saw someone hit the right rear of a 4 runner that had the same thing.. I went with a full rear bumper guard and has been a life saver for sure..
