In the 2020 those are already LEDs and it’s a proprietary circuit with the LED soldered on. You are kind of stuck with the 2700k yellow lighting. I think your only option is to remove or replace the entire assembly.
Jnmarshall thank you for the reply ok so they are like the front map lights. thats a dumb move by jeep with technology today every vehicle should have led lights through out. well atleast a white light not the soft orange. but thanks for the advice appreciate it.
Sometimes that “soft orange” is desirable. My prior car I bought into replacing all my lights with those 6000k Chinese LEDs, can’t remember now if it was deauto or superbright, and found I actually hated it. At night the vanity lighting and footwell light was soooo much glare I ended up putting the original bulbs back in. For my Jeep I replaced what bulbs I could with nice sylvania Zevo LEDs. The back half of the front map lights are replaceable so I have both colors and it looks nice. I left the footwell and vanity lights alone from my previous experience. And replaced the lights in the cargo area which worked well.
I just replace all mine on my 2020. As already stated, the map lights and rear seat overhead lights can't be changed. I did all the others with no issues.
I was looking at converting my cargo area bulbs to LED as they are awful and thought this is one area that would make the most sense. Did you find it to be a very noticeable difference here?
i ordered enough to replace everything i can. i got a free set of 194 leds for free when i got my fog light bulbs. i put them in the back hatch. amazing what a difference it made when its open. you can actually see inside and lights up the ground pretty damn good too. i just wish i had all the bulbs for the reverse and what ever other light are in there while i had the plastic off. now i get to do it again and hopefully not break anything while im in there. the plastic is very thin on the tower parts that hold the push clips.
