wk2 Grand Cherokee Off Road Videos

I just got Icon Coilovers on front btw. Filmed this all within the first few days of having them. Very happy so far.

Nice, thanks for sharing, good to see some others using their Jeeps in the places they were meant to be.

Re: wk2 Grand Cherokee Off Road Videos

Are you trying out for the Baja races? A wee bit fast for my off roading comfort, but not my GC :-D Looks like fun though.

If plan to keep making slo-mo's get a camera that will record at 120fps, then when you back it back down to 30 or 60 fps it'll be nice and smooth.

most of that was recorded at 120 fps. Most people don't even think the stuff that I've already done is even possible without breaking something. I kinda set out to find out if it was. When I first got my jeep I started a thread asking people if the wk2 could handle airing out. I don't think a single person said it was. Most people basically said its too heavy. But weight and performance and capability is largely relative to suspension and HP. Modify the suspension a bit and you can do things others cant. Not many people running Icons and and 2" lift springs on back. I'm trying to forge the boundaries of what is believed can be done in a wk2. Have u ever seen anyone else get all four wheels off the ground? Even most lifted wk2s can't handle this stuff. whether its their choice of tires and rims or suspension setup. It's fun making videos but even better giving people the ride of their life lol I started jumping my tacoma which I had before the wk2 and never broke a thing so I wanted to see if it could be done in the jeep.

Re: wk2 Grand Cherokee Off Road Videos

I actually don't have the OME springs yet btw. I'm running .75" TJ spacers on back with ome shocks. The rear is currently my week link, it bottoms out fairly easy. When I get new springs on back and eventually get my icons revalved and I will probably go a bit bigger in the sand dunes from maybe a few inches to a few feet of height or if anyone else has ambitions to get some air, maybe they will do it before me I dunno. My philosopy is if you're not bottoming out, you probably wont break anything. If you do bottom out, don't do it too hard or you probably will break something. So capability is determined by suspension setup, and wheels and tires. I think I have a very solid setup, more so than I've seen anyone else running thus far.

The video of driving up the creek bed was at Badlands Off Road Park in Attica Indiana. The video starts at the very bottom of the creek where it runs off the property and ends near the entrance for the SUV area. Much of the SUV area has big ruts and difficult for a vehicle like a wk2 even with a lift and bigger tires. I've only been twice and started to explore this area on my last trip. I've learned from watching other youtube videos that the creek continues above the tunnel and can be navigated like the lower portion. Some vehicles can actually drive through the left tunnel but I wouldn't even try it. I will however look for a way to access the creek above the tunnel and go from there.

There is supposed to be a WK2 meetup at Badlands June 4-5th. I plan on Going, Hope some more of you can make it!

The scene where I'm blazing through the sand dunes is also Badlands. All other locations are private.

Couldnt see the videos on youtube, do you have any other links?

Are you running Icon Coilovers in front and ome shocks on the rear with a spacer?

Strange, videos play for me and noone else is complaining. Just go to the Mitch Taebel youtube channel and you can see everything. You are correct on my suspension setup which has been airborne a number of times. However, I also have Tuff Country .25" spacer on top of the icons so I probably have almost 2.5" of lift in front. The back is still a bit soft with the .75" TJ spacer so I ordered OME MD rear springs for my wk2. Should give it at least .5" more lift. Its perfectly level now but the benefits of lifting the back a bit more outweigh the negatives IMO.

Re: wk2 Grand Cherokee Off Road Videos

Nice picture. Is that with air suspension or springs and is there any lift?
