xmonger will become famous soon enough
Re: WK2 Passes Rubicon Trail Pictures

Not pretty, but it made it through and that's a success. A stock Wrangler will get banged up pretty hard through the Rubicon.

Here's the Autoblog article that ran soon after the Rubicon tests:

TahoeWK is on a distinguished road
Re: WK2 Passes Rubicon Trail Pictures

I live 20 miles from the exit to the rubicon and we took a stock wrangler through and it had much more damage through the sleuces.

LOL! I don't know what to think. On one hand, sure it made it. But, to say its trail rated with all that damage is a stretch. I bet I can bang my way through that trail with a slew of vehicles that shouldn't be considered trail rated at all.

Possibly. But as time goes on parts of the trail get more and more erroded. Parts are as flat as a road (which it was at one time). Other parts are a boulder strewn rock fall.

There was a black WK2 that went through the trail with this one and came out with pretty much no damage. The difference was it was equipped with the Mopar rock rails.

Why Jeep ran the white WK2 without them is beyond me--maybe just to prove you could drag it through if you didnt care about the sheet metal damage.

Regardless, you don't hit the hard parts of the Rubicon without rocker protection.
