I think drivers seat room is slightly less. All the extra room went to back seats.

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

After calling a dealer this morning, I was informed that the Quadra Drive is not part of OR2. He told me it is a $275 option that downgrades the wheels to 18s, adds the skid plate group to everything, and adds a Trail Rated Badge. He said nothing on his screen showed Quadra Drive, Hill Descent, Tow Hooks, or anything related to the tow packages. So he said it's basically a "looks package" only. Looking on WK2Jeeps.com, I noticed that, yes, Quadra Drive is a $500 option on Overlands... so it makes sense that none of the good stuff would be included on a $275 option. Seems to be a disconnect between Jeep's website, the dealers, and info online. If anyone has a definite answer I'd love to hear it... maybe from someone who can place a pseudo-order? By the way, the dealer said Quadra Drive wasn't even showing up as an option for an Overland. The only options were OR2 for $275, the Hemi for $1995 and Tow IV $0.

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

The Quadra Drive II is only available with the 5.7 Hemi so that may have to be choosen as an option first before its available on dealers ordering bank.

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

Adding to my post here to see if anyone knows what the deal is...
The dealers say the Off Road II group is a $275 option on the Overland. wk2jeeps.com says $2125.
What am I missing here? Are some features delayed? Is someone wrong?
Ordering tomorrow and I need some serious knowledge before I call another incompetent sales guy.

I find it very poor from Jeep that there is so much confusion on how to order axactly the Jeep you want!

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

Exactly. Good luck finding an OR pkg on an Overland "Building Your Own" on Jeep's website. Then call a dealer and wait for the "deer in the headlights" pause. What a nuclear cluster.

I think you're exactly right. This is a great vehicle, but the left hand is surprisingly ignorant of the right hand's activities. Changing standard equipment, continual confusion over what options are available, and so on.

I fully understand the concept of late availability of features and I'm fine with that. I'm NOT fine with complete and utter confusion when it comes to what will be on the vehicle when it shows up. It looks like this confusion is pretty well limited to the Overland, but when you're dropping 40 large on a SUV, methinks you deserve a bit better idea of how it will be when it finally shows up.

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

^^^^ so true my friend.

At least it doesn't seem limited to just the Jeep brand.

Last week I ordered a new Subaru Forrester for one of my guys, and by reading the newspaper knew there was a "winter pack" becoming available (I am in Australia so its winter here ).

So, I called several dealers to check on availability, none of them had any idea that this spec was on the way. Anyways, I spent some time face to face with a dealer, educated him on what was in the winter pack (leather/heated seats/bluetooth etc), and we did a deal based on the rec retail that the newspaper said it would be (of course I screwd the price down) and the car will be here by the weekend!

Unbelievable how poorly educated some dealers can be. Whether it be lack of interest or poor communication from the manufacturer, it's bad!

Re: WK2 Testdrive/Ordering Experience

I ordered an Overland last week and had to take the leap of faith. I did not and still do not know if it will have the Quadra-Lift on it or not. For me whether it has it or not is not that big of a deal, but Jeep should be able to tell me exactly what the vehicle will have on it. I came away after talking and visiting three dealers that I knew more about the vehicle than they did-in large part because of those that post on this site. Whoever is in charge of getting the information out to the customers needs to get their act together.

According to my dealer (who seems to be competent), any Overland 4x4 ordered since June 2 or so will have Quadra Lift. He had to call Jeep to confirm.

Sometimes the problem with sites like this is that the information can be TOO good; we take rumor as fact and worry ourselves. My view is simple: if what shows up when my Grand Cherokee is delivered isn't what I thought I was ordering, I won't take delivery. My dealer said the deposit was fully refundable (not like they'll have trouble selling it), and I'll make another order once stuff settles out. This isn't a "must have" purchase for us, it's a "want one" purchase, and if we have to wait six months or so, so be it.
