Re: WK2 VS LR4 and 4 Runner in Motor Trend

They might be using stock interior photos, because this one has the QL buttons:

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/.../photo_12.html

Also, the pic of the center stack without the QL buttons looks like a Limited, not an Overland. We'll find out tomorrow if the V6 model is a Limited or if it's one of the Laredos.

Edit: The group shot shows neither Jeep is a Laredo - they both have chrome mirrors.

It's not unusual for the test vehicle and the photo vehicle to be different cars. Sometimes they aren't even the same trim level.

Only if there's a perceived value. The knock on American made has always been the fit and finish and the quality of materials as compared to the foreign designed offerings. That's why this new model Jeep is so different than in years past. It's the Jeep capability along with some refreshed thought about the interior materials and layout. They really do compare nicely to the higher level European and Asian stuff.

what a beautiful area they dorve those vehicles...oh wait that's where I live HAHA

Great article...cool the Jeep got closer, and it seems with a couple mods you could get it very close to outperforming the LR4! I will never knock LR capabilities but holy fawk is that LR4 ugly from the back or what??? I will take the Jeep and $10 g's in my pocket ALL DAY!

For 10k you can put a nice 392 or a supercharger or a turbo...

Re: WK2 VS LR4 and 4 Runner in Motor Trend

Yeah the big knock on an LR4 will be the typically crippling depreciation of English cars. I actually prefer the LR4 to Jeep...if prices and cost of ownership were equal.

Re: WK2 VS LR4 and 4 Runner in Motor Trend

Regardless, I see it as a shame that the Hemi Jeep is now outsprinted by a bloody LR4 of all things!

Think back a few years guys, the Hemi Wk was quicker than the SUPERCHARGED Range Rover Sport.... now, Jeep is trailing LR's base V8 engine. Jeep hasn't kept up unfortunately.

I'm putting my flame suit on, because I know this is a Jeep forum and some of you are one eyed or maintain that strait line speed isn't important or the Jeep is fater over 100mph or whatever. blah blah fkn blah. LOL - fact is, a BLOODY seven seater brick of a Land Rover will beat you off the lights! Oh the shame! lol
