Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

And who's to say this Overland they're willing to do a great deal on didn't fall off the truck or get hail damaged or something?

If you don't trust them...don't do business with them.

I wouldn't buy from them either, no matter what the price. Take your business elsewhere.

Same thing happened to me...i bought my '12 GC from the dealer by my house, but the car was at a dealer 200mi away. Signed the paperwork, was supposed to take 2 days. Found out the car hadn't even arrived at the othet dealer so had to wait 2 weeks. Then the other dealer sold it out from under me. Luckily my dealer was able to find me the exact same one in the color.I really wanted...had that one w/in 2 days.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

See this is the issue, dealers cant just take cars from other dealers' inventory, they have to make a trade for the car...they'll tell you its simple to get your business...but if the other dealer doesn't want to give the vehicle up they dont have to.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

That is the risk you run when trying to buy a Jeep that the dealer doesn't have on their lot. I ran into the same issue. I wanted specific color/option package. My dealer tried to get me one from another dealer. We PREPPED the paperwork to do the deal. The next day they told me the other dealer wouldn't give that Jeep up. So we went looking for another. Lesson learned is don't sign on the dotted line until they have your Jeep and you are good with it.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

I hate to say it, but OP is at the mercy of the dealership now since he forked over that much money upfront and the dealership will not give it up that easily.

They will try to out him in other models and all that BS sales tactics.

Paperwork has the first vehicle's VIN and they can't deliver. Threat of lawsuit or just stand in the showroom loudly complaining about it and talking to other customers until money is in hand.

No way would I give them a chance for the vehicle.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

They have proved that they are not to be trusted. Get your money back and do your homework (truecar.com or others) before you walk into another dealer's showroom. If you don't know whether or not you got a good price, chances are you probably didn't.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

Im sorry but heres what I think... How do they jerk you around and then get you to spend 5k more?

I would just take my money and go. I bet if you called some higher ups someone would have to answer some tough questions. Take your money and watch them come down in price.

Re: Worst buying experience ever...please help

Thanks for everyone's feedback..I really appreciate all the advice..I went ahead and took my business elsewhere down the road. Went to another dealer today and and they quoted me invoice minus the 1k incentive and a little less for my trade. I whooped out the old buyers agreement from the the shady dealership and after talking to the mgr for a while, they matched everything, even my trade. Also they threw in the weather mats and I decided to add the side steps for an extra 500 installed. Came out with a White V8 Overland 4x2, Mopar side steps( my wife had a hard time getting in and out without it), advance warning system, saddle seats, weather mats ( tho need to pick them out on the 15) and 4 free oil changes, for 39500 bf ttnl. Overall I'm loving this first American ride so far.
