Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

I'd like to see them do away with the unpainted trim that skirts the entire vehicle. It's the one thing on it that looks cheap.

I'd like to see them come up with a way to mount the rear wiper motor such that it's not such a hideous wart. I understand it couldn't go at the top of the glass because of the spoiler and couldn't go on the gate off the glass because of the angle between the glass & metal, but it should still be improved somehow.

I'd like to see a true, part-time 4wd system added like is available on the Wrangler & Liberty. I realize no GC has had this since 1995, but if you're over-engineering the vehicle for the 5% that will take it off-road, why not give a proper part-time 4wd system as an option?

If you have QL, putting it in sport mode lowers the suspension and gives it a sportier stance (in addition to what sport mode does for those of us with coil springs).

Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

I'll be interested to see how the plastic trim around the wheel arches etc holds up to both weather and polishing. I'm wondering if the plastic will gray like the step pad on WK's, and also if it will absorb polish, instantly looking terrible.

I'm also super keen to see one with painted out plastics, but my hunch is that (other than black vehicles) it may have a negative affect on the looks?
Photoshop anyone?

Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

I think its odd that they change the gearing to something even taller with an offroad package.

I think its odd that the QDII doesn't have a front ELSD.

Do people really like wood trim? As mentioned above I dislike that about overland.

I don't like the emblem on the steering wheel.

I don't like that they limited the power output of the Jeep hemi.

I do like that they still offer a V8. Ford did away with the option for the exploder.

I do like that they got rid of those hideous WK headlights. That is the main reason I didn't purchase a WK.

I like that its a bit bigger than before.

Come on you folks who have bought one!
The OP is asking for your input, don't leave it to us non-WKII owners to populate the thread

If I get one....the very next day it will be going to my body shop for all that trim to be paint matched......

I look forward to the result!
I'm assuming the plastics will require smooth sanding, ie, they have a textered finish?
I just hope you're not the first and that some of our new members have the mod bug1

Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

bottom line if you're in the market for the new jeep, you must-

get the hemi, the v6 isnt bad but the hemi it aint.

get the overland, you cant beat those vented seats...and i love the wood grain...with the overland you get the 20 in wheels also, which to me, make the jeep.

lastly
post pictures on this website, we love that.

I definitely like the wood trim and would be disappointed if it didn't have it...in fact, that is one of the things that drives me crazy about the "sport" models of cars, especially European ones. On the BMWs, MBs, Cadillac CTS, Audis, etc...the standard and luxury versions have nice wood trim but the M/AMG/V-Series/S they MAKE you take aluminum/carbon fiber/black trim which I HATE. If I'm paying that much more for a car, why can't I opt for the wood trim? Obviously they have the parts in the bin. Can't I have fast AND luxury?!?

...and I think the emblem on the steering wheel looks fine also

Of course these are just my opinions, and everyone's got 'em lol.
