Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

wk2, its funny you mention that, i drove onto a gravel road doing about 45-55 and the wheels threw rocks up and into the side of the car and into the rims. i didnt think that was even possible but the dings were there only after i hit that road. be carefull out there!!!

It would chip instantly. I guess the way the tires kick up rocks is right onto those parts. The unpainted bits already have a few nicks in them at 3,500 miles. Not visible, but if it was paint it would be.

As for what I'd add... A sixth gear, and make each one a hair shorter.
My KJ had painted rockers. My Tacoma has no unpainted bits. Both of them spend/spent a lot of time off-road and on gravel roads. Neither of them suffered from paint chipping there.

I would like it if the center stack did not encroach on my knee space. I've had to alter the way I sit when driving to stop my right knee hitting the stack just below where the wood trim ends.

has to be a difference in design i guess. on that note, however, i'm sure that some mud flaps would go a long way for this issue, i just hate the look of them.

I noticed the high console too when I went to test drive one. It hits my right knee right in the wrong spot as well, but I'm still planning to get one; just something I wish they had considered. I don't have this problem in my '02 Liberty which is much smaller inside overall.

I don't sit very close, but I like to let my right leg rest to the right, especially with cruise control on. I think there's a little more room that way than the 2010 model.

Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

I sit kind of close, yeah. I'm 6'2" with my height skewed towards my legs. If I put the seat back so my legs are stretched out, my arms don't reach as well as I'd like. I like having the steering wheel close.

I noticed this issue when I test drove it. First thing I noticed was how cramped the footwell was compared to my '06 KJ and my pickup, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Your having arm lenth issues even with the telescoping steering wheel?

I'm 6'2" as well and I found the steering wheel to pull out far closer than I need/want.

Re: Would you change/redo anything (For the people who have a 2011)

Yeah, I have the wheel telescoped all the way out. As I mentioned, I like the wheel closer than most people do, so I'm an outlier here. Still, this is the first vehicle I've sat in where this has been an issue for me.
