Why are you getting snarky? You asked for opinions. Nobody is telling you what to do.

Marlon stated what he would do.

As I said earlier, mine cleared up on its own after a few months when the weather got hot, and remained fine through the winter.

I can't speak about all the people at Chrysler. But I've followed Marlon's posts for over a year. He is one who cares a lot. He would not tell you to ignore something that he thought would continue to be a problem.

Just sayin', if you ask for opinions, don't shoot the messenger.

I didn't ask for opinions, read the OP, it's not from me......

Telling those in this thread not to worry about or to ignore the obvious flaws in our vehicles isn't exactly a caring attitude in my book, just sayin'....

He didn't tell anyone to do anything. He simply said "if it was me..." And then stated what he would do. Geez.

My apologies. I scrolled to the bottom of the page to see who the op was ... and missed that there are two pages.

I looked at my seat and arm rest when I got my Jeep. I figured the dents were from how the items were packed when shipped. Many foams will come back after being compressed. The longer they are compressed the longer it takes, and heat and moisture helps. If that were not the case, everybody would look at their butt print every time they opened the door.

Cushioned dash boards are often repaired after an accident by leaving a damp towel on it overnight and hitting it with a heat gun in the morning ..carefully. The underlying foam and the vinyl will return to their original shape.

As I said in my first post, as long as Jeep has acknowledged it, it pays to let nature take its course and see what happens. If it doesn't right itself, then let the dealer tear into it.

Again, I apologize for confusing you with the OP.

That seemed excessive, but hey....we all want as nice of a ride as possible when dropping 40k +. Personally, it wouldn't bother me to much unless passengers noticed it when sitting. As stated by another user, if you look hard enough, you can find lots of things that could drive you crazy! But hey, if you want to get it fixed, I am sure the dealer or Chrysler will work with you.

Re: Would you make the dealer replace the seat?

I have the exact indent in mine. I might stop in to the dealer and ask about that and the fuel door which sticks out at the top. Doesn't hurt to ask and when you pay over 50 large for something like our JGC I don't think that is out of line.
If they fix it or take corrective action great if not at least it is documented but a dent in a new seat really isn't something that should have made it out of QC. All the cars to include cheap ones never had this. I don't think the OP is out of line to ask what can be done. I agree could be a section of foam that is just puckered a little under the leather cover.
I really enjoy my JGC and for the money all in all very happy...

Re: Would you make the dealer replace the seat?

Wow. I get attacked, and words put in my mouth over one post??

Geez.

I do not expect 100% perfection out of anything that is made by humans. Sorry. This is minor stuff that I wouldn't even have noticed nor cared about so that is why I wouldn't bother. I don't care how much money I paid for it.

Now if I bought a new Jeep and the engine was knocking after I took it home, yes that is a problem.

____________

Now at work, I do my absolute best at my job. That's all anyone can really ask for, right?

I'm not giving you a hard time - I asked for your opinion, appreciate it and am weighing it in my concerns with the dealer. I've decided to leave the media door thing alone. The seat - I believe I will take the advice of another poster and see what happens when it gets hot.

But I do differ in opinion with you about not caring about minor stuff. If we accept inferior quality control it will never improve. I don't accept crap work from my own employees so why should I settle for poor workmanship for something I pay for? American quality should strive to be the best. Our workers should take great pride in the products they turn out.

I wasn't talking about you. I'm talking about pensfan414.

Regarding me not caring about minor stuff... when I'm BUYING a vehicle, I guess I am just very easy to satisfy...

That's the type of person that I am.

If I was so bad, then I wouldn't have been so pissed off at that carpet issue in another thread.
