ms', my horse trailer's hitch is all black, so what I did was paint a white stripe about a half-inch wide that goes straight back from the point of the front for a couple inches. That has helped immensely when I back up to hook up, especially since the area I park that trailer is somewhat shaded. Let me know if you need a picture...I'll be happy to grab one when I have a few minutes to do so.
