Wrinkles in leather summit dashboard

Before I closed on my white with brown interior 2014 Jeep grand Cherokee Summit, I noticed crinkles in the leather where the seams are sewn together on my dashboard.

It almost seemed like the leather was straining at the seen same. I considered it to be unsightly to have lateral wrinkles coming away from each side of the seam.

I called it out and they gave me a sheet of paper that would promise that I would get a new dashboard from the factory.

After several weeks the new dashboard arrived iand yesterday I picked up my jeep after the dashboard was installed. Upon examination of the newly installed dash, there were now wrinkles in the front seams closest to the steering wheel (in direct line of sight of driver) as well as to the left lower side of the dash as it curves and descends vertically around the dash info screen.

I again complain and explained that I was not happy with this dash either. The service manager tried to get out of it three times but we held them to it and today they told me they are ordering another new dash from the factory for me.

Does anyone else know what I'm talking about and am I expecting a seamless and smooth Dashboard unreasonably?

I'd have to see a good closeup picture to see if you are being unduly picky or using a magnifying glass, but I don't see any crinkles in the stitching on a year old Overland... and they seem not to be overly aware that you paid some pretty good money for a Summit model.

Take a pic, use advanced mode, make it an attachment. Unless you have an account on an open photosharing site, in which case you can link to it.

You might want to check your control panel to see how much posting of pics you can do if you want to put them up as attaches. Links work if you have zero space.

Lol I think I know what your talking about. I would need a picture to compare to my lines on my dash. I think the heat does that tho my car is garage for most days. Also, I condition my leather seats every week with chemical guys but some how I find a new dry wrinkle dry spot. I think it's just normal wear n tear or that I'm using the wrong product. I'm picking up mopar stuff this weekend to see it that makes a diff

Re: Wrinkles in leather summit dashboard

I question "conditioning" the leather. It is no longer cow hides. It is composite (think particle board). And I believe it is coated with something too.

Re: Wrinkles in leather summit dashboard

Dealership has now ordered a second replacement leather dashboard for me ... I still can't post a picture - can someone tell me again ... I don't know what "advanced mode" means ...
