Wrong engine ordered for wifes jgc!

Hey guys need ur advice. I bought a 2011 overland with hemi and liked so much we ordered a 2012 limited for my wife, mineral grey, luxury grp II, with the v6- she wanted better gas mileage. Tonite went down and dropped off her infiniti g35 trade-in and were to meet tomorrow to buy the 2012. I asked if she could peek at the new jeep and to make long story short it has the hemi, not the v6 we ordered. After waiting so long she does not want to re-order. The dealer manager, who ordered the car right in front of us was not there, so will have to talk tomorrow. Do i just bite the bullet and get the hemi or what? I must say i like my overland with hemi and actually had sevond thoughts about the v6, but my wife wanted the v6. Right now she is just tired of waiting? Any advice? Thanks!

I wouldn't even think twice about it. Go with the HEMI. Simply ask them for additional money off. You'll appreciate having the 5.7L in the long run. If they were drastically different with MPG I could understand, but 2-3 MPG isn't a deal breaker for me.

Wow that would be a tough decision. I worry something like this happens with my order. I dont know what to tell ya. I know one thing. If I was taking the mistake I would definately be getting quite a deal on it

x2 I would try to negogiate an additional savings and keep the Hemi because I agree that the 2 or 3 mpg in the V6 isnt worth it vs the power of the Hemi.

Re: Wrong engine ordered for wifes jgc!

My grandfather, who retired from Shell, always said, "The bigger, more powerful engine doesn't have to work as hard to haul a truck around. Go big for a rig."

Hemi.

Really now that I think about it. If u can afford 2 $40k vehicles within a yr I doubt the couple less mpgs are gonna Hurt the pocket book. Go for the hemi

Re: Wrong engine ordered for wifes jgc!

I suspect if you have a contract then you could get it for the contract price. They may try to upsell you but could just stay firm.

Now if you expect to stay with this dealer and build a relationship then you can consider tossing in a few benjamins, say half the invoice cost of the option.

If you decide to play hardball, I would have a lawyer look at the contract first and check for weasel words or oddities in your locale then go in knowing exactly what your options are including being able to just walk away.

If you have a contract, make copies and keep the original in a very safe place.

Finally, talk it over with your wife and be in agreement when you go in. You must present a united front and agree on who does the talking or you have already lost.

Personally, would like having one of each then see which you drive the most (suspect the V6 would surprise you).

Re: Wrong engine ordered for wifes jgc!

I love my Hemi, but if she wanted the V6 I would get the V6 unless they gave you a good deal and try not to f you over.

BTW why is she out of the kitchen and not making sammiches?
