GTOGreg has a spectacular aura about
yakima fairing on Mopar rack?

Can it be done?

Looking for something to reduce noise with my Yakima powderhounds. Thought I read somewhere the 50" is the one I need?

Re: yakima fairing on Mopar rack?

Ya it can be done. I did it with a 50 inch Thule. It came with 2 Plastic flairing edges that I decided to discard. Used some of the hardware that came with it and bought some of my own. Made my own mounting brackets with some metal strips from home Depot. Once I got them fitted I spraypainted them black with a rattle can and cleaned up the install. These photos were my initial install, I have since taken it apart, cleaned it up and repainted it before a clean install. Looks like any other Fairing install.

Re: yakima fairing on Mopar rack?

On the 3rd Picture I first tried to use some cork pads between the fairing and the bracket. This caused the fairing to bend and didn't look clean so I removed the pads so the fairing lays flush with the bracket. I recommend not using pads.
