The rear isn't hiding a hidden hitch, it's the cover they put on when you don't order the Tow Package, just like on the regular WK2.
I think Jpjr nailed it, it's far less obnoxious than the previous version and takes it to the level expected of a premium SUV. I'm sorry guys but the previous SRT was rarely ever mentioned in the same breath by someone looking to buy a Cayenne, X5 or Range Rover Sport where the new one is a natural competitor and a fraction of the cost.
Personally, I want a sleeper with just a hint of what's lurking under the skin, not an "In your face" exhibitionist vehicle that screams "Look at me". I got that out of my system 20 years ago but that's just me, YMMV.
