Re: Your Lowest Fuel Mileage EVIC Readouts...the bottom line!

Winter driving and the winter blend gas kills mileage. I bet you will see a few more mpg's in the warmer months. I know in my civic (dont laugh, i have a long commute) I was getting 37/38 mpg pretty regularly, and in the winter I go down to 33/34 with the winter blend and cold weather driving. I didn't receive my grand Cherokee yet but it probably has an instant fuel economy reading, check it out when you are "having some fun in the parking lot" that kills gas mileage, not enough to stop doing it though, of course

Re: Your Lowest Fuel Mileage EVIC Readouts...the bottom line!

The winter blend fuels do kill mpg's somewhat. I haven't driven in a lot of snow yet but my lowest was 11 on the EVIC and that was going through some mountains. However, when I calculate my mpg's by dividing my mileage by the total gallons I fuel up, I always end up about 1.5 mpg difference from the EVIC...usually the difference indicates better mpg's than what the EVIC says.

x2 on the winter blend. I dropped from 13 to 11, combo of city and highway with the majority being city.

Re: Your Lowest Fuel Mileage EVIC Readouts...the bottom line!

Here are two articles about Winter Fuel Mileage...I don't feel terrible now. 9mpg was the worst from messing around and before I was getting 11mpg...so in the city it'll likely jump up to 14-15mpg or so in the summer time when the blend switches and the weather is warm.

My other Overland wasn't that bad...so I just got scared because I pay more to fill due to the larger tank and get similar mileage so I felt I went backwards...I'm okay now!

I consistently get 11.5-12 mpg with mostly city. With pure highway driving 17-19 depending on the wind and how much traffic slows me down. I only get into the single digits when I use the auto shift
