15-16 Wrangler Subwoofer

Does anyone have insight into the wiring? I can buy a used sub from a 14 (old location) to put in my 16 when it arrives (without factory sub). I've done a lot of car stereo stuff in my lifetime, so the work doesn't intimidate me. Is the amp in the sub enclosure as it was on the TJ? Do I just need to feed it power, blue/"on" wire, and a line-level feed? How hard is it to get the "on" feed from the factory radio?

Eventually I'll upgrade everything, but if I can get a good start for $100 and a few hours of my time, it'll be a good start.
