2014 GC Start/Stop button

Hey guys

I've been searching for a good amount if time, both online and this forum on how to safely remove the Start/Stop button without damaging the trim. I know there is a way to do it successfully but it eludes me. I want to replace it with the Red SRT push button cuz I'm cool like that.

Any help, as always is mucho appreciated

Re: 2014 GC Start/Stop button

The MY14 button isn't designed to be removed like the 2011-2013.

On the 11-13 the button can be removed because of the design of the key fob still being the 'grenade', it's still an actual key. Behind the button is the key starter in the event that the push button fails

Re: 2014 GC Start/Stop button

Exactly, but you have a 2014, and they don't work that way. The button isn't supposed to come off.

Re: 2014 GC Start/Stop button

From your owners manual:

NOTE: In case the ignition switch does not change with the push of a button, the RKE transmitter (Key Fob) may have a low or dead battery. In this situation a back up method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the Key Fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button and push to operate the ignition switch.
