77 CJ7 rolling over but not firing!

I have a 77 CJ-7 that is my baby! It has a V8 304 engine and the other day, driving home from work it died. It started up just fine when I left but as soon as it died it would not start AT ALL. It rolled over but would not fire. I towed it back home and let it sit over the weekend and then tried to start it and it fired right up. I changed out the coil, just in case and I'm wondering if this maybe a points issue... It is starting now but does not want to stay on for more than a few minutes. Has anyone had a similar experience? It was raining off an on the day it died, that is why I'm thinking points. I've never changed points in a Jeep before, it is quite different than in GM's. Any recommendations??

Please and Thank you!
