Anti tow Alarm

I have a 2011 (2012 model) WK2 Grand Cherokee 3.0 Diesel Overland here in the UK, and having studied the handbook for the vehicle, I can find no mention of how to switch off the tow away/tilt sensor, which forms part of the vehicles security alarm system. I have spoken with my Jeep dealer and they have no suggestions either. I will soon be making a 11 hour ferry crossing, and should the sea get a bit rough, do not want the alarm sounding for the duration. On previous vehicles that I have owned, that section of the alarm could be disabled by two presses of the remote or similar, but alas, not on the Jeep. Any suggestion would be welcome.
