blower fine no output

Trying to figure out what is causing very low airflow but can hear blower working fine. other post indicated blower motor resister but that does not make sense as blower is running in all speeds. Does this indicate blend door?

Re: blower fine no output

Which jeep? Did you change the blower motor or resistor? Wrongly wired blower motor or resistor will let it run in opposite direction causing normal noise, but almost no flow. If the problem happened out of nothing, then probably the recirculation door is broken and laying on top of the blower motor. Just remove the blower motor and look up (this is valid for the WJ, donīt know in your case)

Re: blower fine no output

Frank,

Thank you so much. First answer that makes sense and I will know later today if correct. If door is removed will ac/heat work normal or in recir. mode?

I have 04 Grand Cherokee Spec. Edition 4.7

thanks so much

Tom

Re: blower fine no output

I heard from others that they just fixed the recirculating door up with some wire. Not sure in which mode it will be in then. When you would remove the door completely, it will get air from inside and outside, depending on which side creates the least resistance.

Re: blower fine no output

Frank,
Thank you so much, you were absolutely correct. One of the pins of the recirculating door had broken and it was laying above the fan. Since i live in south florida and the AC struggles to keep up here. I cut about 25% of the door off and attached it with screws to the forward intake which is the outside air. This should give me about 75% of the air will be recirculated (cooler) and 25% fresh.

I'm looking forward to finding out if this works.

Again, thanks, you saved me money as well as aggrevation!

Cheers to you
