I ordered a set of Akebono ceramic front pads from Amazon for my '05 Grand Cherokee. Unfortunately the included packet of brake grease was pinched between the pads in transit and leaked grease on the surface of one of the four pads. I have some spray brake clean that I purchased to clean my new rotors. Can I also clean the pad with the brake clean to remove the brake grease that got on its surface or will this damage the pad?? It is not entirely covered, its just 4-5 spots about the diameter of a pencil eraser.
I am thinking of returning them for another set of pads. But I wanted to do the job tomorrow. Can anyone with more experience advise on what I should do?
I'm kind of pissed about how poorly Amazon packaged the pads. A second pad had a small bit of friction material chipped of at the edge of the pad.
Thanks in Advance,
John
