Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

Looks great... and if you watch the first You Tube video you'll see a link to show how it stands up against a hi-pressure wash... good stuff.

Just did mine today. They came out ok. I'll be doing them again soon. The front came out crappy so I got pissed and tore that one off. I kept the one in the rear though.

Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

Yeah, I taped off a rectangle with newspaper and sprayed. Then once dry I carefully peeled. On the front I didn't let it dry long enough and it peeled too much off. I'll do it again tomorrow or something. I'm actually pretty happy with this!

Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

Wow...so after you let it dry enough it didn't come off the emblems when you peeled it? HAHA I went nuts taping all around them when I did mine. Now I know what to do when i do them again

Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

^Its really cool, it comes off around the emblems! check out the link posted earlier. It only takes about an hour to do quickly.

Now that i have them all painted, any ideas of what to do with my hemi badge? Paint it too or let it be? It has chrome on it.

Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

anybody happen to have an idea if this stuff needs to be applied at a certain temperature? Picked up a couple cans and am planning on doing my wheels, grill, side trim and badges. Problem is, while it's been sunny for the past week, the temps have been hovering in the mid to low 40's and are predicted to stay that way for the next 10 days. Guessing I should just allow for more drying time, but wasn't sure if anybody had any prior experience??

Re: DIY plastidip your emblems.

I did all of mine in the garage with a eden pure heater on all night so it was right about 70 for 18 hours.. I def would do it in a garage or wait till it warms up a bit. But I was doing my wheels also.
