Awesome, def got my brain working. Your pictures are really helpfull and easy to follow. Stopping at Radio Shack on the way home to pick up some supplies to give this a try.

Re: DIY Superflux LED bulbs (578, W5W/194) Plug-and-play!

Radio Shack does not have a great selection of LED bulbs. I picked up a blank circut board and a single 28,000mcd LED. I also picked up a pack of 10ohm 5% 1/2 watt resistors. The 4 pin LEDs there weren't rated as being that bright. I downloaded an electrical app on my phone that calculates the value of the resistor types needed with different LEDs, just plug in the values and automatically figures it out.

The LED I bought, 20mA/ 3.5 forward volts/ 12 volts vin, says I need a 470R at 10%. Well I happen to have have 470R 5% resistors left over from my climate control LED install im going to try. If this works then ill spend the money to buy the good 4 chip LEDs. Seeing if its worth making my own instead of ordering ones already made off Ebay like I have installed now. And I have a few installed that glow after the car is off, would be nice to eliminate this.

update on the rear cargo leds. 2 of the ozniums burned out again

time to call them and run them with a current regulator(got one at radio shack for 1.99)

Re: DIY Superflux LED bulbs (578, W5W/194) Plug-and-play!

I've had a few go bad. One bad LED makes the "bulb" strobe. Oznium customer service is great though, they sent me replacements.

It's funny, the cargo strip LEDs are doing great so far but every so often one of the LEDs from one of the DIY "bulbs" will go bad, which causes the bulb to strobe. I don't know what causes it, as they're all wired the same.
