DOES ANYONE HAVE TOOLS I CAN BORROW TO REPLACE A HEAD GASKET?? (Greater boston area?)

Hi,

I have a 2001 jeep cherokee sport with a blown HG..

I dont have tools.. I let a person hold onto my credit cards or my vinyl collection or almost ANYTHING as collateral..

I am NOT a mechanic, but Ive been learning and my very experienced mechanic friends, who have seen what I can do, also people on this forum have been saying I am 100% capable of doing it myself.. (Not so much people on this forum because they don't know me, but.. Ya know..)

Also, one of my mechanic friends said he would come check on me a few times while im doing it...

IM DOING IT BECAUSE IM TOTALLY BROKE!!!

Im pretty much a charity case..

Help me out if you can :/

Audrey

You say you have mechanic friends. They should have the tools, and they must get at least one day off from work. One day would be enough time to get it done and get the tools back to them.

I would ask the mechanic friend that's going to come check on you if you can borrow some tools?

The OP and I have been having off-forum talk about loaning tools and other things..

As a chef/cook, he knows of what we speak when we talk of loaning tools..

Def true.. I have let people use my knife kit, expensive mixer and stuff if i wanted them to learn, but i told them how to maintain the quality of my knives, blah blah.
I also know i can fix whatever..
BUT thats so rare for a person to do that..
Also, automotive tools are WAY more expensive...
Honestly, you can get a decent chefs knife at stop and shop, haha.
I had German steel to, which isn't that great..
The only steel thats worth the $$ is Japanese steel. No doubt.
