Front pinion seal replacement

I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee with selectrac and need to replace the seal. It hasn't been leaking to long, but, figured I will have to add some fluid. Was wondering what type and whether I need any friction stuff( if it is suppose to have it) being I won't be losing a whole lot of fluid. Any tips? Fluid was changed about 5 months ago, so just need to top it off.
Thanks for any help
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all

Re: Front pinion seal replacement

I've done a little more research, I guess what I need to know is how do I tell if it has the varilock differential?

Re: Front pinion seal replacement

As far as i know only the quadra drive has the vari loks inside the diffs.
There are however people who changed out their NV247 T-case for a NV 242 (select trac), so in those cases you could have vari loks inside the diffs.
