I think I may remove the calipers from the rotor before painting, does anyone know if that is alot more work? maybe use some wire hangers.

I'm also thinking of painting the jeep lettering gloss black so it stands out, not as nice as brembo though.

Re: HOW TO: Paint Your Calipers

I didnt want to remove them because I had never done it before so... wasnt sure A. how to do it and B. if i'd be able to put them back on haha...

it wasnt so bad to do.

in retrospect... if I need to ever repaint or I feel like touching them up (i still have like half a can) i will do a full removal and everything. i plan on getting some new rotors and pads in the near future so, what better time to do it.

Re: HOW TO: Paint Your Calipers

I finally got mine done a few months ago and posted it here somewhere lol. I painted them red with the "JEEP" in silver. I like 'em. Not hard at all to remove the caliper but I wasn't in the mood to do it so I painted them in place.

Re: HOW TO: Paint Your Calipers

Looking to do my calipers soon... Has anyone had any experience with the Caliper paint found at Auto Zone??? Just wondering if thats equally sufficient to do the job as the G2???

Re: HOW TO: Paint Your Calipers

Thats the spray paint version? I personally, no. Some people on here have said though that it chips after a while and you need to re-apply it, if I'm not mistaken.

I did mine with the AutoZone kit! Looked great for a while and then slowly got worse and worse...Not sure if it was because my half ass prep or the shitty winters we have up here! LOL

Never tried the G2...

Re: HOW TO: Paint Your Calipers

As far as the G2... if you look at the OP it is from just about a year ago. The paint still looks awesome. No chipping. Still nice and bright blue, right in your face.

I can speak for the quality of it, but as far as anything else. No idea.
