Intake manifold sensor?

I'm stumped! I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L 4x4. On the left of the thermostat housing, which is mounted to the intake manifold, is the coolant Temp sensor. Then on the right side of the thermostat housing is another small sensor I can't identify. It's has a small brass nut (3/8, 7/16?). It has a small thin white connector on the end of it with two wires. When I tried to disconnect the wire, the whole plastic part came out of the brass fitting. It looks like the brass fitting has a brass sensor rod on the end that screws into the manifold.
