Left CV Axle

I cant seem to be able to pry out the left side CV axle half shaft. Took everything apart just like the hanes book said and still nothing. Took apart the right side popped right out. Still nothing on the right. Anyone have any idea

Re: Left CV Axle

As far as i know you can' t remove the C clamp before removing the shaft. Can' t you get a slide hammer on it to remove the shaft? Its probably just sticking.

Re: Left CV Axle

So what did you do in the front of the diff to get the axle out?

With it in neutral. Took off the front plate off the diff/pumpkin. Rotated rear wheels so the gear axis hole faced down. From there you can see about 1/4 inch of the axle shaft. You can wedge a larger screwdriver between that and the inner yoke and tap, TAP it free of the C clip. No stress at all
