Re: Rear Park Assist Failure
Bill, I never had the park assist so I don't have a lot of first hand experience backing my thoughts, but it doesn't tell you where its coming from, just that your getting close (wherever it may be). So moving sensors shouldn't give the driver any different indication other than the fact they are still too close to something. Again, if there was a scanner involved it would pinpoint the sensor and a quick swap would further verify the problem followed but without the proper scanner there is no indication to the driver which one may be bad... furthermore with the issue I wouldn't particularly trust the system to tell me accurate information before it shuts itself off anyway. IF what I have said is not accurate, please correct me, but if it is, the ONLY way to DIY find the bad sensor is with a new one and swapping it in each position.
Also, JGC2008, last one I replaced at the dealer (2 yrs ago or so) we couldnt get a painted on, so have your paint code with you and pick up a bottle of touch up paint!
