Wink running again

Hi all,
well my jeep back up and running and no more smoke . it was not the pcm, like the bump the key 3 times said gave me this code P 0601.
I did take it a part and did not see anything bad, so I went back to
what I thought, starter and I was right the brushes was wore out on the
positive side and on the negative side was all most gone too.
so replaced the brushes cleaned it all up on the inside and it started up
like a new jeep the brushes was $ 40.00 a lot better then $175.00
at autozone. any one need brushes for a starter let me know see what
I can do. this was on a 2001 grand Cherokee 4.7 motor the starter
is = 1.9 horsepower.
Gary
