What is sensor top of mirror

What are the two sensors on the top of the mirror on a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland? They appear to be light sensors but I am not sure. I want to mount a remote radar control on the top of the mirror and it will block one of the sides of one of those sensors but I am not sure what that will affect. Maybe for the auto headlights?

Re: What is sensor top of mirror

There is something in the owner's manual that talks about not blocking something around the mirror.

I don't remember exactly what it was, but I'm sure if you download the manual and then just search "mirror" you'll have it in no time.

Re: What is sensor top of mirror

The rain sensors are up by the rearview mirror, iirc.

I might take a picture later today. This is not near the mirror but actually right on top of the mirror itself. When you grab the mirror to adjust it, you almost touch these sensors.

I think so, but not sure. I have my radar remote module on top of the mirror now and it doesn't appear to be affecting it but it is hard to tell.
