Where in the USofA are you able to get gas without alcohol in it?

I thought Bush Gas was mandated by the feds, that all gasoline had to have ethyl alcohol in it--to help Iowa corn farmers.

A bit of alcohol is used as an octane improver and oxygenator since MTBE was declared not useable.

Is this highway gas or offroad/farm gas?

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?

2 wks ago, I was in WI at the Iols car show, near Stevent's Point. There were 10-12 stations in the general area who had 100% gas. People were handing the list of stations out at the hotel we were staying at!

Paid cash, so I don't have receipts, but was cheaper than the 10% crap back home!

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?

Up here maybe half the stations if luckey have 10% ethanol mix, remainder is real Gasoline. Only one outfit has 93 and its got 10% in it, hence why I run a 91 custom tune in my Hemi Magnum as I decided no corn if I can help it and given the altitude its enough octane to do the job. So the E85 Ethanol Badge on the Jeep is cool enough to have the do gooders think I am improving my footprint and if I drive down to the USA i'll be good to fuel up anywhere. My Jeep runs just fine on the 87 Gas.

That site is useless- the info is provided by the customers and is totally unreliable. Most people don't even know what they're buying. Seems that they think ethanol free means the gas has free ethanol in it!!! Called several stations listed in my area and none of them had ethanol free gas. Some have it in premium only.

On our UT trip, we found real gas in Wyoming. It was the same price as 10% ethanol but lower octane. 10% was 87 and real gas was 85 octane. I didn't want to use anything as low as 85 but it probably would have been okay.

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?

Hi All, when I first bought my current ride, I would use E95 Octane (which included 10% ethanol), and was approx. A$0.02/litre less than 91 Octane pure gas. I then tried 95 Octane of pure gas, which costs approx. A$0.10/litre more than 91 Octane pure gas. Using the latter, I found my fuel consumption dropped by 1 litre per 100km, and the car drove smoother and more responsive. Overall, it ran better on 95 Octane Pure gas.

South Florida has no land based pure gas stations available. The only pumps that have pure gas are marinas and those pumps are on the docks for boats.

Re: 100% Gasoline/No Ethanol-good or bad ?

I ran 91 octane non-ethanol exclusively in my 2010 Wrangler Unlimited. Expect an improvement in fuel mileage of 7-10% depending on your driving style and conditions.
NASCAR doesn't talk about it any more, but when the Cup cars first started running the ethanol blended fuel, the number I generally heard was a 10% reduction in fuel mileage.
Think about this: Consider the amount of Federal and State Tax on a gallon of fuel. If your mileage is 10% less because you're using their "favored" fuel, you have to purchase an equivalent additional amount...which provides them additional taxes.
