Just got a notice in the mail regarding a recall on the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee I own. It says that certain 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 101 - Controls and Displays and No. 126 - Electronic Stability Control Systems.

The problem is... The instrument cluster on your vehicle may experience cluster blackout, illumnation of multiple cluster warning lights and/or a loss of anti-lock break systems (ABS) / electronic stability control system function. A loss of instrument cluster illumination and/or loss of ABS function during certain driving conditions could cause a crash without warning.

What your dealer will do... Chrysler will repair your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will tighten the alternator ground wire and reprogram the instrument cluster and ABS module. The work will take about two hours to complete. However, additional time may be necessary depending on service schedules.

Simply contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer right away to schedule a service appointment. PLEASE BRING THIS LETTER WITH YOU TO YOUR DEALER.

Any thoughts? Anyone else had experience with this? I searched this forum and found nothing about it.

Thank you.

Thank you....would have saved me a lot of typing. Shame on me for typing n58 nhtsa 13v-483, cause I got nuttin'! :)

Thanks. I just called the dealership...they said they have seen a few and can do it Monday AM. Why isn't it more prominent in this forum? Thought it would be listed by number or maybe a sticky.

Oh well.

Thanks.

My wife took her Jeep in for that recall and to have the spring on the fuel filler door replaced. The first attempted software update failed @ 70%; they retried it and finished it with no further problems. Something about their wireless network failed or something...

Mine has had no problems but will go in for the recall when it's first oil change is due unless some other stuff happens.
