03 JGC Brakes?

I am about to buy my friends jeep that she has had since 05. She has never had any major problems with it other than her husband fell asleep at the wheel and had a wreck. He ended up having to replace the transmission in the last 6 months (shortly after the wreck) she has been driving it since. I rode with her the other day in the jeep and I noticed a constant windy/ air releasing noise. She told me its been doing it for a while. I asked my dad and friend what they thought it could be and they said possibly a break line leak or something? I will get it in the next 2 weeks so I can take it to the shop to figure out exactly what's wrong. If anyone has any clue what it might be I'd really appreciate it

Re: 03 JGC Brakes?

Welcome to the garage.
Is it a constant hissing noise that you hear? Does the sound come from the brake pedal area? Does the jeep brakes work normally?
The hissing noise could be coming from the brake booster.
There could be an other vacuum source, which is used on jeeps with the manual AC system. Then the noise should come more from behind the dash area.
