03' Liberty Water Leak...CRAZY

After a heavy rain back in October, we would up having at least an inch and a half of water on the passenger side floor. It didn't happen again until a few weeks ago, this time it wasn't as much water at first, but then when I would hit the breaks or make a turn, a ton of water would coming pouring out from somewhere under the dash on the passenger side. We check the cowl vents, we checked the A/C condenser, & heater core. You can actually hear the water sloshing around behind the dash somewhere as you drive. I should note that there is no sunroof, so that removes that from the equation. We took out the carpet and removed the moldings along the door to see if we could find it. We figured out where the water is getting in from, but not the source. The hole where the molding clips in is where its coming from. I attached picture to give you a better idea. Its coming from the little rectangle hole. Any thoughts on where the leak is starting from?

Its not the windshield because we removed the cowl vent and ran a hose just in the trough and only on the passenger side. The water ran right out of the drain in the wheel well but some how got into the jeep. Water was never ran on the windshield.

Re: 03' Liberty Water Leak...CRAZY

i was going to say the same thing check the windshield seal by the base of the glass near the cowl. i had the same issue on an OLD VW GTI aparently the windshield was not installed properly and it would only leak after a heavy rain. wouldn't happen when i washed the car. just after a long heavy rain. only other thing to do is tear apart the dash and find out how its getting in.

Did you ever figure this one out. I have the exact same problem on an '04 Liberty I have owned for a few months. Water coming out the same hole.
