05 5.7 gc help!

I just bought a 05 Jeep GC hemi, Its very clean looks and car fax seems to be a good deal, but it did have some codes. first off, I'm new to the hemi, i got this code p0507, so i removed the air intake(all stock) and the TB and just used a tooth brush and lightly scrubbed it and wiped all the carbon i could away.. disconnected battery and engine light came back on 30 miles later... So i repeated it but this time took the TB fully off the jeep and sprayed the cleaner just on the butterfly(both sides) looks very clean, reinstalled it, engine light came back on bout 30 miles later again... Pcv doesn't look to be bad nor does the egr.. but idk does anyone have a solution? i know past owner said he cleaned the throttle body idk how i didn't ask.. this ones tricky its got me stumped.. might just replace the TB what do you guys think?

Also C121C is coming up all iv read is PCM or ABS module, but i have no lights indicating theres a problem with that. the lighting bolt isn't showing up no limp modes doesn't fell like I'm loosing power.. If anyone can help i would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks

-Dave

Re: 05 5.7 gc help!

So I replaced TB and gasket, engine light came back like 3 days later not P0507 so I think the TB and gasket fixed tht but now I got p0440 p0441 which is caused by the same thing. So I tightened up the TB and went over the vacuums, put alil Vaseline around my day old oem gas cap. Hopfully this is helping someone and I'm not just talking to myself

Sorry p0440 p0441 isn't caused by the same thing as p0507, what I ment was those 2 codes I just got. Relate to evap.

Ya o2 sensor is good? I'm confused with it because all a vacuum lines are good and that code didn't show until after I changed the TB(which finally got rid of P0507).

Re: 05 5.7 gc help!

O2 sensors are unrelated to the evap leaks dtc's

Honestly in the WK the ESIM switch is a COMMON failure, occasionally there are a couple hoses at the canister that crack and leak, also the purge solenoid can leak too, but I would go as far as to say 9 times out of 10 on a WK when I had an evap leak it was the ESIM switch... The ESIM switch is what the system uses to determine if there is a leak or not, when the switch fails it can give a false negative.

Where is the ESIM switch located on the jeep? Pics would be great, but I could understand if you explained. I have never heard of it. Thanks!

Re: 05 5.7 gc help!

its under the fuel filler door behind the bumper cover (directly behind the left rear wheel). its not the easiest thing to get to, in fact you may want to consider if you want to attempt a repair, pulling the bumper cover off so you can have easy access to it and have a good view of all the lines. It mounts on the charcoal canister and I believe the charcoal canister with the ESIM installed on it is in the neighborhood of 100 bucks +/-

its going to look similar to this, not exact, the ESIM switch is the white piece.

Ok I have seen that. I'll get back to you guys if it fixes the codes!

Thanks
