14 GC overland Check engine light on, no code

Hi All,

Not sure if anyone has the same issue. Had a CEL/MIL on when I was driving on Friday, brought the 14 GC overland to the dealership on Monday, found out there were about 10 software updates and a recall that needed to be performed as well. So left the car at the dealership. When I picked the car up, and looked at the paperwork, for the CEL/MIL item, it's saying NO CODE, NO PROBLEM FOUND. So does anyone here also had a CEL/MIL but no code found? A couple month ago, had an engine misfire issue. V6 btw.

I noticed that the software updates are done before the CEL/MIL, at least their job numbers are ahead. So not sure if it is the software updates somehow cleared the code.

Thanks!

I'm guessing all the software updates, and possibly whatever the recall was about, may have solved the problem. Software is huge in all cars these days.

I would have expected the update to clear the code.

There are a couple causes of the MIL, some are legit, the rest are either software or software workarounds for flaky sensors--for example bogus evap sensors.

Generally if the MIL light is on solid, it may go away after a few start/stop cycles.
If it is flashing, best to use a code reader to see why or get it to a repair shop.

Mine did this twice in the first few hundred miles and hasn't done it since with over
10K on it now--although we did tighten up the ground bolt which is part of current the recall.
