Re: 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 6 cyl.

Have a look especially at the INLET manifold and gasket, because a large vacuum leak overthere will give exact the same indications you have.

Re: 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 6 cyl.

Do you have a Figure of the manifold by chance?
Thank you.
And then why the fail is not there at all the time, if there is a leak in the manifold ?like today no signs of the fail?

Re: 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 6 cyl.

Strange that the failure is intermittent. That would indeed not indicate a vacuum leak. Did you see the STFT figures without the failure? I don' t believe that an O2 sensor would fail one moment and thereafter is ok again. I would still have a look at the inlet manifold, its where the air enters the engine. Just check with care the whole inlet system from the filter until the cylinder head. Check for loose hoses, cracks and missing gaskets.

Re: 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 6 cyl.

Thank you for you help.
Problem solved, O2 Upstream sensor dies yesterday and truck does not stop failing.
Hook the scanner and read the Voltage of the sensor with not fluctuation.
I replaced the sensor (Delphi Brand) and the truck start working like new.

Thank you.

Re: 1999 Jeep grand Cherokee laredo 6 cyl.

Good to hear the problem is solved. Still strange though that the sensor was failing intermittently and during the first tests didn't show a failure.
