Thanks for all your responses. Is the PCM something that commonly just goes out? I know I can get one at a junkyard or online, I've heard it needs to be reprogrammed. Is the programming for the odometer reading only, does the PCM also control the Sentry key system?
Should I do any other testing, compression, timing before I move onto the PCM. Anything else before I take another $180 plunge into this ghost of a problem.
